Update in turms of Exporting

ok so just as a fucher update, i need evryoe to export there section of the SU as an FBX, so just select your aria and select "Export Selection" in the file tab and then export it as an FBX, this is so the texturs weill remain in the file and i wount have to have ot find them again as they seem to be linked to evryones home PC's

Friday/Monday Deadline

OK everyone, i need updated versions of the aria your working on so i can see them in there progress, you can then upload them again in the afternoon lesson so i can see them as you've progressed, this is the deadline today, were running out if time on this, especially when we only have a week left on the project.

jobs to do IMIDIENTLY

Block of and DELETE the arias of the SU that there not using. but keep a plain in there showing where they where so its easier to import into the Unity project.

Textiring - Above all, this NEEDS to be done as soon as possible, espashaly since were losing time quickly, so to make up for that we need to texture quickly. use the texturs ive uploaded to the dropbox, if there a large size you can go into Photoshop and go to "imige > Imige Size" and you can change the resolution of the texture imige. some of the texturs won't be an exact square, so you'll have to crop it using the crop tool if need be.

During the weekend pleas upload the latest vertions of the SU your working on (as na FBX so the textuers are enbedded, you also have to make shor the texturs are enbedded)

new Deadline

ok so we have less than 2 weeks on this project, so well have to work extra hard on this now, ill inspect the texturing on fryday but i expect there to be majore progess, ill inspect it in the afternoon so evryone can work on it during the day.

we also need to convert all texturs to be "the power of 2" e.g. 200x200.

it is also reccomded to convert them to a JPEG so that it lowers the size of them so when its in unity it will not use up so much memory, and so on and so thorth.

New deadline. monday deadline

ok so all the deadline for Monday is basicaly an export of our project so far, all you have to do is upload the selection of your aira so i can put them together and then export them as one, if you have made large changes, include them in your upload.

also. a note on the upload, what you need to do it upload your work to the "SU_Showreal" folder in Dropbox so that i can know the latest vertion of your section of the uni, i can then put them into one Maya file and send it to Robin and so on.

Texturing the SU

Texture Time. Final countdown too.

Mike: Opening of the SU.

Matt: Middle part of the SU.

Jamie M: Back Part of the SU.

Jamie J: stars and gathering textures, if you need a specific texture, TELL ME so i can get it as soon as possible, or of need be edit an exsidting texture in Photoshop.

i need to see your progress on Monday, and then a neer finished result on Thursday/Fraday.

on Firiday ill be making an inspection of your progress with this as where running out of time we have to start speeding up on this. this will take place around mid day.

and remember, if you have a problem with something wether it be 3D 2D texture or whatever it is, ASK, specifically Robin or Tanguy for the answers in Maya.

lets make progress people.

UPDATE: so far so good, seeing results which are good looking, slight problem with Maya not properly Autosaving but aparently you have to enable it in the "prefrences" tab ot whatever it's called, it should be a tutorial on google. but so far im inpresed with the progress so far of that weve done.

In the biginning, there was 3D modeling Space

first blog post, and a big list of things to do. had some confutions of communication of what were doing.

objectives that need compleating... what people need to do

Mike: Modeling the SU, still in Max but better safe than sorry.

Matt: Continue with objects at the moment, Nice job in the Maya one but we need to know what your working on so we dont end up with two diffurent vertions of the SU made by doforent people by acsident, which happend. so far you'v done the Alcohol bottls which are awsom but they need to be lower poly acording to Steve, and at the moment your working on Glasses for the SU, which is good and one of the prioratys.

Jamie M: Keep working on skripting, as well as working on objects in Maya/Max/whichever one that suts your needs. also might be a good idea to communicate with Matt to work on obnjects hes created to be skripted. then well send them to Robin to impliment in the Unity project.

Jamie J: weill be working on objects as well, so far working on the Red sofa. and taking pics for texturing/ colour reforence.

also each object needs to be exported as an FBX file, if there are problems exporting to this, or of your using a doforent program that dosent export into FBX then you can export it into and OBJ file and inport it into MAX (tryed on Maya and that dident go down too well) and then export it from MAX into an FBX.
